NHL Power Rankings - Leafs getting a sinking feeling

The respect being bestowed by opponents in games against the Maple Leafs has been disappearing.  Clearly Toronto games are considered the must win for contenders as the Leafs fall in the standings.

TSN - 18th (-6)

4-7-3 in their last 14 games, the Leafs have fallen from a playoff position and ought to have some real urgency to reclaim it now that nine of their next 10 games are on home ice.

CBS Sports - 20th (-2)

After a surprising 21-goal season a year ago, Clarke MacArthur is on a pace to score 29 this season.

Fox Sports - 21st (-5)

Consistent goaltending continues to elude the Leafs, who have allowed fewer than two goals only once in the past month.

Sportsnet - 21st (-5)

Mired in a three-game losing skid, the Leafs have fallen out of a playoff spot and Phil Kessel has surrendered the NHL scoring lead. Worst of all: they have the most dismal penalty kill in the league. That needs to change fast if the team is going to the postseason.

ESPN - 22nd (-7)

Leafs fans have seen this movie before.
