The maple leaf disappears from Maple Leafs Garden

The blue Maple Leaf logo atop the Maple Leaf Gardens’ domed roof disappeared Wednesday, symbolically marking the end of an era. The logo was removed as part of a reconstruction project that will see former home of the Leafs re-open next week as a Loblaws supermarket, Joe Fresh clothing store and LCBO liquor outlet. Eventually a Ryerson University athletic facility will be added.
